Long time no see. Sorry I have not posted in a while we were doing reflections so we did not have time to post. Where was I at last time oh yeah I was posting about poetry but we finshed that so I will go on to Art. We were printing our lino prints. This is what you: your first print is a fully black one. Then you go and choose you ink to do a insurance print. An insurance print is a print so even if you mess up on your others you still have a good print. It is lots of fun!

Mad Pad

I'm not posting about talent development today. Insted I am posting about poetry. We did a workshop on the Ipads. We did lots of apps that I had never seen before: like Mad Pad and others. We published our poetry on an app called Pic Collage. These are my poems: 

Talofa,

You know how I keep posting about art, well today I'm still posting about art but for a treat I will post some of my poetry I have been doing over the last 2 weeks. We had done everything that Darryn wanted us to do. So guess what we did we when to the art gallery and Darryn said to learn art you have to see art so that is what we did. Next, we got back and we started a lino print. I'm doing two flowers.

Okay, Okay, that's enough of art! Onto poetry. We did free verse and haiku. Haiku is a poem of 3 lines with 5 - 7 - 5 syllables.

This is mine about chess:     

Chess

Pin forks and skewers

Scholars, en pesant moves

Stale-mate or checkmate.

This is my free verse:

A dull wet day hangs over the world.

Rushing and bustling, not caring to say to say hello.

Grey clouds drifting through the sky.

Droplets fall from the sky, hit the cold hard ground.

A pattering on the roof

And me curled up in bed.

Zucchini my worst fear! 
No not really we're just sketching. We learnt that you start with light pencil strokes, then when we are finished we will have dark lines. We had to shade in the parts that were darker  than the rest. We also learnt that we had to stay in the same spot because if we move our perspective will change. This is mine:

No paint shirts?

We all got our paint shirts out but Darryn say that was amusing to watch but we were going to be sketching today instead. He said to start lightly so we can rub out if we need to. Then we make them darker once we are happy with the shape. After that we shade in the parts that we can see have shadows or that are darker than others. It was hard to get the shape right and the proportion.

A swipe of a brush

With a swipe of a brush and a flick of a pencil we started art. First we had to draw a cartoon face and make it actually the same. Then we started painting.  I just had to paint the plate and do some touch ups.      
My apple looks like the apple I chose, it was hard because it was tricky to get the colours exactly the right shades.  I am happy with my end product.

Art

"Get your art shirts on and get ready to paint" says Darryn. Today we kept on painting our still life apples. I had already painted my backround a dark grey so now it was time to paint the light colour on the apple. The colour was a greeny yellow colour. Then it was on to crimson colour we had to lightly put the crimson on. I havent painted the plate yet.
